Workshop on International Talent Attraction in Research in Austria

The RESAVER team was pleased to participate in a compelling event held in Austria, organised by the European Commission, RESAVER in partnership with Central European University, and in collaboration with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency / Euraxess Austria as well as the Austrian Ministry of Women, Science and Research. The workshop focused on the HR Excellence in Research Award and the pan-European pension scheme RESAVER, highlighting tools to strengthen research careers and improve institutional strategies for talent attraction within the European Research Area (ERA).

The speaker line-up included representatives from Austrian institutions actively implementing the HR Excellence Award and RESAVER, who shared their motivations, experiences, and best practices. Discussions also featured the benefits of RESAVER for internationally mobile researchers and approaches to improving framework conditions for research careers.

The program included presentations and interactive sessions on institutional talent attraction strategies, retirement perspectives for researchers, and practical insights into leveraging both the HR Excellence in Research Award and RESAVER as instruments for institutional development.

The event brought together HR managers, research managers, and other professionals engaged in talent attraction and the support of research careers. It provided a valuable opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of actionable strategies to enhance researchers’ professional and financial well-being.

This workshop highlighted Austria’s commitment to advancing research career frameworks and demonstrated the growing importance of RESAVER and the HR Excellence in Research Award as key tools for institutions across Europe.
